"Making the world a little better, one baked goody at a time."
JessiCakes Project is a licensed home baking business operated by the Borlongan Family in their home's kitchen located in Northern California. It began as a project by a daughter, Jessica, while she was in high school. Jessica's desire to support her favorite charities prompted her to sell home-baked goods on January 4, 2011. She donated the profits she made to charity.
Now a full-time student at UC Davis, majoring in NPB (Neurobiology Physiology & Behaviour), Jessica gets help from her parents. Josie, her mom, oversees the day-to-day operation while her dad, Patrick, supports the business by implementing strict quality control, buying supplies, and helping with promotions and deliveries.
Through word-of-mouth, JessiCakes Project has reached new heights. By mid-2013, the family has decided to turn JessiCakes Project into a business while still continuing to support their favorite charities through donations from portions of their profits.
JessiCakes Project offers pricing to match every budget without compromising quality and taste. They continue to hone their baking and cake decorating skills each day, with an outcome better than their last. They also offer flavors that would wow everyone in your party. Ask about healthier options such as low-carb and low-sugar flavors so you can enjoy these desserts without feeling guilty.

History
JessiCakes Project started as a hobby. Both mother (Josie) and daughter (Jessica) love to bake goodies in their humble kitchen during their mother-daughter bonding time. They share their baked goods with family and friends. On January 4, 2011, they started a blog called Baked Yummy at http://bakedyummy.blogspot.com/, where they share photos, recipes, and tips.
Jessica (the daughter) decided a week later that she wants to sell cupcakes to help charities. If people like cupcakes and are willing to pay for them, why not sell them and donate all profits to benefit her favorite charities? Her mother thought it was a great idea and started announcing it on Facebook. She named the project "Charity Cupcakes." Within minutes, she has received interests from her Facebook friends. A few hours later, she received her first three batches of orders from friends and relatives.
Later in the day, her mother received a private message from one of her Facebook friends with a subject header "JessiCakes Project," which her mother thought was a creative name with a "punch." Her mom decided from that time to change the name of the project from "Charity Cupcakes" to "JessiCakes Project."
Josie's Battle with Diabetes Influences JessiCakes Project's Flavors
Josie's battle with diabetes influences JessiCakes Project's flavors, which include healthier choices with ingredients that people with or without diabetes would love. Josie loves desserts, but she has to avoid certain ingredients that would spike her blood sugar. Therefore, in addition to the standard flavors and ingredients available to those without dietary restrictions, JessiCakes Project also offers choices that include ingredients such as whole wheat flour aside from all-purpose flour, artificial sugar (Splenda) aside from regular granulated sugar, and soy milk or reduced-fat milk instead of whole milk. JessiCakes Project also scours farmers' markets and supermarkets for organic and fresh ingredients. In some cases, they also offer gluten-free ingredients
