Despicable Me Minions Cake - 011512

This Despicable Me Minion cake is an interpretation of baby Claire's mom's idea. As some of you already know, we make Claire's (our newest family member) monthly cake. This cake is a 2-layer rectangular red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. It features another tier of 6-inch, 2-layer chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. The theme of this cake is Despicable Me, with the two minions (one-eyed and two-eyed) as the stars. All decorations are made of marshmallow fondant. The small cake on top is decorated as a cake, which shows the two-eyed minion protruding from the cake and about to grab a cupcake. The one-eyed minion poses next to the bottom of the cake. We had so much fun making this cake! This is one of our favorites, too. :)
