Hula Girl for an 85-year old- 031812
The wife was throwing a Hawaiian Luau
style party for her husband who turned 85 on 3/18/12. Her daughter found
a picture of a cake that has a blonde girl dressed in hula skirt. This
is our rendition of that inspiration. We apologize for the low photo
quality. We were pressed for time that we weren't able to take pictures
at our studio. Instead, we used our digital camera (the old one) to take
a few shots after setting up at the house of the celebrant. The cake is
made of 2-layered 10-inch white cake with lemon filling and then
3-layered 8-inch chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and fudge
frosting. All covered in fondant. The hula girl figure is 50/50
gumpaste/fondant. The flowers and other decorations are fondant. The
sand are graham crackers that were pulverized. :)
