Petit Fours for New Year's Eve

For our family's New Year's celebration, we've decided to bring petit fours instead of the usual, cake, cake pops, and cupcakes. We were planning on making cookies too, but we just got too busy that we did not get the chance to. However, these petit fours were so scrumptious and moist that they were gone, gone, gone...even before the stroke of midnight.

These were made of dark chocolate cake with melted chocolate (Guittard) as base. We used vanilla frosting for the white ones and strawberry coulis for the mauve ones. We used fondant decorations and edible pen to write 2012. We also added gold and silver dusts to make them sparkly.
